This testimonial is written in appreciation of the numerous kind deeds that Ms Lim Hui Mien Rebecca has done for me and my late husband Thomas, far beyond what ordinary FAs would have been bothered to do. We have known Rebecca for more than a decade and it all started off with my acquaintance with a fairly fresh advisor named Alvin, at a neighbourhood MRT station. Alvin had approached me about insurance and subsequently arranged for a meetup with himself and his then mentor, Rebecca.
Upon our first meetup, Rebecca went through careful assessment of our financial health. She portrayed herself as someone with great knowledge in her field and she had all products at her fingertips, which she genuinely is. We bought our first 2 Flexi policies for our 2 kids with Manulife, followed by a 3rd policy following year for our youngest child. We barely had the financial ability to get more insurance coverage then and those were our only policies with Manulife. Nevertheless, in between her busy schedule, Rebecca never failed to check on us occasionally to see how we were doing and in no time we became friends. When my 2nd child suffered from meningitis due to persistent high fever in 2008 while he was just 8 months old, Rebecca showed up at KKH to visit my boy with toys and played with him at the ward. At that moment I knew this lady is no ordinary FA.
10 years down the road, needless to say we became yet closer, with her calling to check on us occasionally, not forgetting her yearly effort to pass us calendars and organisers personally. She also did a few financial reviews for us at different stages of our life to ensure that we have sufficient coverage for ourselves and our 3 children. In May 2017, when Thomas was diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma, the first person that came to my mind was Rebecca. I called her to inform her of his condition and very quickly she looked into the policies that he had with Manulife and proceed with his claims accordingly without further delay. She followed up with me closely both emotionally and financially, making sure that we make the fullest claim of his only life policy.
On top of that, during the short period of about 6 months into the date of Thomas’ diagnosis, Rebecca had also visited us several times at the hospital to give us advice on how we should quickly get his will and LPA done such that in the event of his death I would have a smooth management of his estate. Rebecca had given us much positive vibes to get through that extremely difficult period of time, encouraging us not to give up on hope. She even came on Thomas’ “last birthday” with a cake to celebrate with him at the ward. In January 2018, Thomas passed on peacefully. Rebecca attended his funeral and sent him on his final journey. Thereafter I went through a series of application of Grant of Probate and other estate matters which could have been way more difficult without her help.
Today, Rebecca continues to manage my coverage and gives me financial advice to help meet my needs in every aspect she can think of. She is indeed an asset to Manulife, a reliable and trustworthy advisor cum friend which I know I can count on.
